The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) turns 25 this year, and we’re so honored to help this nonprofit celebrate with the 2016 I Am Campaign. The campaign, which kicked off a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, will run through the end of 2016. Sponsored by westernunion.com, I Am is in its third year and celebrates the achievements of AAPIs in unconventionally “Asian” professions (such acting, singing, fitness, food, and journalism). We’ve gotten some amazing AAPI influencers—including George Takei, Dominic “D-trix” Sandoval, and Megan Lee, with more to come—to tell their I Am stories in 2016, and invite you to tell yours. There’s going to be a new video, new stories, and Facebook Live Q&As throughout the campaign. Join the conversation by using #IAmStory and #MyFirstStoryteller on Facebook.
Unlike last year’s I Am, this year the event will be entirely digital. And speaking of I Am 2015, we recently received this trophy from Effie Worldwide. We were a finalist for the North American Effie Awards, Asian category—an honor in itself. The Effie is a globally recognized, prestigious marketing communications award, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been recognized by the organization.
