Verizon has five “Destination Stores” in the country, and TDW+Co was excited to be part of the July 2015 grand opening of the fifth, in Santa Monica, CA. We built the social media campaign around the event, consisting of three elements: partnering with local celebrities to spread the word and appear at the grand opening; hosting a virtual special event on Snapchat; and hiring a food truck to offer free fluff ice cream and other freebies to customers. We launched the hashtag #SMVerizon, which was used 1,400 times and resulted in 24 million impressions, reaching across the country. We’d say that was a strong start for this store!
